Gift certificates really are just a click…or rather many, many clicks….away!

It was about a year ago that I came across MyPoints. It claimed that by just reading e-mails and shopping online that I could get free stuff. I was, of course, skeptical, but I signed up anyway. I immediately started getting e-mails offering hundreds of points for buying a particular product online….but noticed that they also gave 5 points to you just for clicking a link and visiting the product website. I visited every website that mypoints.com e-mailed me and SLOWLY accumulated a good amount of points. Mypoints also offer between 10-200 points at a time for completing surveys and signing up for various product e-mail lists, so I began doing that also. It took some time, but after many months I had earned enough points to use them! I selected to use them to purchase Hilton Honors points roughly equal to a $50.00 gift certificate. It was delivered as promised with no problems. Now, a few months later I have enough to redeem for a gift certificate of about $25.00 (about 5,000 points) to a variety of restaurants and stores.
If you don’t mind getting lots of e-mails, and are very patient, I would recommend signing up. The rewards are NOT fast, but it doesn’t take very long to visit a website or to fill out the short surveys, and the rewards are truly free. I was impressed by the variety of redemption options as well. I don’t shop through their website, but you can earn many more points if you do. It is worth giving it a shot, I was pleasantly surprised. I would recommend using a secondary e-mail address for it though as it results in a lot of junk e-mail.
