Coffee: Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks!?

In my travels, I have lived all over the US, from New Jersey to Nevada, New York to California. Being raised in Las Vegas, I was used to the taste of Starbucks. There is no doubt that Starbucks has great Lattes and Mocha’s, but I question the taste of their regular coffee. I am not a fancy whipped, shaken, twice stirred and make sure you add splash of vanilla, type. I am straight up, hard core, just give me some coffee kind of guy! I never did drink much of their regular coffee, but I did have a Latte once in a while…just a straight up Latte, nothing fancy.
It was not until I moved out East and had chance to try out Dunkin Donuts. I can tell you that Dunkin Donuts rules out East as much as Starbucks does out West. Living eight years out East, I was hooked. Dunkin Donuts has great coffee. Without a doubt they have the best straight coffee. I was kind of disappointed when I moved to California and found that the nearest Dunkin Donuts is 300 miles away. I went back to drinking Starbucks and it has just never been the same. Don’t get me wrong, Starbucks does have its good stuff if your into all those types of coffees. It’s just not for me! If you need to give the staff a road map of directions to make your drink just the way you want, then is something is either wrong with drink or the person drinking it. Of course that is just my opinion.
Tell me if you had the pleasure to try both in your travels which do you prefer, Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks? Also if you have another place you prefer, please do share. I am always looking for some great coffee.
