The Golden Compass, a must read!

I am huge fan of this trilogy after reading the books and seeing the first movie. I must say of course, read the books! Just like many Hollywood productions, the movie can only show you so much. It misses vital scenes and doesn’t go into as much depth about the pasts of the characters. The books make your imagination run wild and are just a wonderful read for kids and adults alike. I wish I had these books to read when I was a child, I would of loved them even more!
Now, if you have already seen the movie, but haven’t read the books, you are in for a treat. The books are fantastic! If your not a big reader, or just don’t have the time to read, then I suggest listen via audio-book on your Ipod or any mp3 player. The Golden Compass has all three audio-books out and you can purchase them at Audible. Audible even gives you a sample of the book online so you can get a taste of it. The Audio-books have a fantastic cast with individual actors playing each roll rather than the typical single reader with different voices. (However, in the Eragon series of audio-books one man reads the story, Gerald Doyle and he is just a master story teller! Another great series by the way.)
Do what I do, if you have long drive to work or a long train ride, pick up some audio-books. They are just great for those boring trips. So check out the Golden Compass book or the audio-book, you wont be disappointed!
